We are running one more BoxTops contest for this school year! Send in your BoxTops in a Ziploc bag marked with student’s name and grade and amount of BoxTops. The contest will run until noon on May 26th. The most amount of BoxTops wins, Winner takes all between all grades!! Our next contest will be November 2017!!
SPIRIT WEAR SALE
The last spirit wear sale of the school year is going on right now!! Free shipping on online orders is available until May 29th. Go to www.bonniebranchspiritwear.com to design your items and place your orders. Forward this info to any soon to be 6th grade families and spread the word!
The Social Committee is planning a school wide “SPIRIT” dance for early in the school year and you will want to ROCK the BBMS Styles!! Go check it out!
COMMITTEE CHAIRS NEEDED
We are still in need of a few committee chairs to have a successful school year next year. We need to the following chairs filled- Hospitality, Vendor Fair, BoxTops, International Night, Staff Appreciation, and Social Committee.

Spring Dance- The dance was held on Friday, May 12th and due to rainy weather, our outdoor Luau was forced indoors. : ( However, a ton of fun was had by all. There were plenty of snacks, drinks, great music, photo opps, contests, giveaways, socializing, smiles, and laughter with friends!!! Thank you to the many parents who contributed snacks, refreshments, paper products, etc. Thank you to all of the parents who donated their time to chaperone and watch the kids have a blast! A VERY SPECIAL THANK YOU to, staff member, Thaise Brower who was once again our professional photographer for the night!! We so appreciate her support of the PTA events!
STARS- our big STARS reveal was held on May 9th. A big THANK YOU to Meena Amin for chairing the STARS program this year. The STARS program is a wonderful way to show your support to staff members throughout the year and put a smile on their faces!! Look for information next year to be a part of this fantastic program. Thanks Meena for all of your efforts!!
Nominating Committee-Thank you to Glenna Deekle for heading up the Nominating Committee. Her efforts helped fill the slate of the executive board for the next school year. She is also responsible for our Facebook postings and keeping so many parents in the loop!! Thank you Glenna for your time and efforts!
Host Families Sought for AFS Exchange Students: Next 2017/2018 school year almost 20 exchange students will come from around the world to experience a life-changing year of cross-cultural sharing here in Howard County. Exchange students live in a family such as yours and attend your local high school. Host families volunteer to provide room and board and get to know a great kid and learn about a different part of the world. Students are available from more than 90 countries, including Norway, Thailand, Italy, Spain, Germany, and Chile. Exchange student interests include soccer, scouting, orchestra, anime, dance, and choir. 8th Grade Parents: Howard HS PTSA Needs YOU!!
The Howard HS PTSA is currently looking for parents to become more involved in the 2017-18 school year. These are the last 4 years for you to get involved and show your support for your child’s school. Please get involved! Be connected!! It is a GREAT way for a freshman parents new to HHS to be “in the know” about what is going on!! Some positions are year round, some are short term, and some can be done right from your home!
