Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS)

Positive Behavior Intervention and Support program (PBIS), a school-wide program that fosters positive behaviors in our students.  The Positive Behavior Intervention and Support program is built around the Bonnie Branch Middle School 3Rs, which encourages students to be Ready, Respectful, and Responsible.  PBIS provides the framework for educators to teach behaviors consistent with the 3Rs, reward students who follow its principles, and consistently apply corrective consequences for those who do not.  Research demonstrates that systematic, universal application of PBIS allows parents, teachers, and administrators to create a school climate conducive to learning.

At Bonnie Branch Middle School, we follow the Code of Conduct and are:

  • Respectful
  • Responsible
  • Ready

Students will learn more about the 3Rs through classroom lessons, modeling, and practice. In addition, the 3Rs are posted throughout the building.  Students will receive a Shark Bucks as a reward for demonstrating the 3Rs.  Students may spend their Shark Bucks on Fridays at the Shark Shop. Students may also be able to redeem their dollars for extra school privileges such as computer time, media passes, etc. and may use them to participate in quarterly Fun Day activities.
