3. HC DrugFree’s Free Parenting Classes - First class starts tonight!

Raising tweens and teens is tough. Wouldn’t it be great if adults could take a class that taught us how to help our kids avoid risky behaviors, all while learning how to say NO to drugs and alcohol? There is! HC DrugFree and the Howard County State's Attorney's Office in partnership with the Howard County Public School System and the Health Department will once again provide FREE evidence-based classes for Howard County families to gain skills and knowledge to reduce the risk that their children will use drugs.  Parents, guardians, and grandparents of children ages 9 – 14 are invited to this 4-class series which will be held on Zoom from 6:30 – 8:00pm on Tuesdays, November 9, 16, and December 7, 14.  If your child is slightly younger or older, complete the registration form and we will review the information and get back to you. 4. HC Drug Free Update: Successful Medication and Sharps Collection: 

On Saturday, October 23, 2021, HC DrugFree collected 1,106 lbs. of medication (34 bins) and 19 bins of sharps in 4 hours at its drive-thru site. Thank you to the Howard County Police and the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) for guarding and transporting all medications to keep our community safe. Thank you to all volunteers for your help too. HC DrugFree's next medication and sharps collection is expected to be held in April 2022.
