(Ms. Striebich will have this on our website soon!)
We hope you are doing well, staying safe, and feeling good about how virtual learning is going. We only have a few more weeks to go, so hang in there Sharks!
We learned this week that teachers will assign work for two more weeks:
During the week of June 15 to 19; teachers will provide time for students to turn in any missing assignments and wrap up grades, as well as engage students in alternative learning activities.
This week you will get a chance to complete a survey letting us know if you have any items at BBMS that need to be picked up, including: medications, instruments, locker shelves, and personal items in lockers. We will assign times for families to stop by BBMS where we will greet you and bring items out to your car. There will be a process for picking up items and dropping off HCPSS materials. All of this will be shared with you separately. We anticipate using June 9, 10, & 11 for pick up days.
As we get closer to June 23, we will finish the year with our annual talent show! Look for details coming home next week for students. We hope they create videos of their talents, including music, art, sports, tik tok dances, etc. We will create a montage of their work to be viewed before the last day of school. This should be fun for all to see!
Lastly, we have been working with the PTA, Student Council and 8th Grade Team to come up with ways to appropriately show the BBMS 8th Grade Class of 2020 how very special they are to us. Plans are in place to commemorate their time at BBMS with a school plaque, a farewell video, and an online raffle. Parents, students and staff are working hard to put all of this together and we will share this with you soon!
Hang in there Sharks - we know you can do it!

Dear BBMS families,
School supplies will be distributed at the HCPSS Grab-N-Go meal sites (Links to an external site.) on Wednesday, May 27, 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. The supply pack includes a single subject notebook, pencils, pens, crayons or colored pencils, pencil sharpener, eraser, highlighter and glue stick. One or two packs will be provided to each family who requests them depending on the number of students in that household.
Please do not hesitate to reach out to me if you have any questions related to school supplies or other needs your child may have while learning from home. We know how difficult this transition to online learning can be and we hope you let us know how we can assist you (ie. technology support, communication with staff, questions about procedures, etc.).
Sincerely,

Schedule for May 25-29
Dear BBMS Families,
Can you believe it? Memorial Day is right around the corner! We hope you and your family are continuing to stay safe and healthy throughout this time. Please reach out to us if you have any needs surrounding virtual schooling. We know that it can be extremely hard juggling work, family and school responsibilities so please let us know how we can help you and your student(s). This week we are about one half of the way through the fourth quarter; and teachers are contacting parents if students are falling behind. We know this can be casued by a number of reasons, but we want to make sure you know how your student is doing and what they might need to do to earn a passing grade this marking period. Please look for those teacher emails or phone calls. We are here to help your student be successful!
Adjustments to Distance Learning Schedule: Week of May 25: Schools and offices will be closed on Monday, May 25, 2020 in observance of Memorial Day. The following adjustments have been made to the distance learning schedules to accommodate this school closure:
The regular distance learning weekly schedule will resume June 1, 2020.
We hope you have a great week BBMS! Stay well - stay positive!
Go Sharks!

Dear BBMS Families,
***Technology Update*** - we are hearing from families that shipments did not arrive as scheduled by HCPSS on Friday. If you have not received a device, please email me at andrew_cockley@hcpss.org. We will check your request and monitor the delivery. We've notified our teachers that students may not have the ability to connect today and they are going to be very patient with students this week as you acquire the needed tools to be successful in online learning. We are sorry that this is occurring and appreciate your patience during this time.
